The new Stephen Silver Fine Jewelry boutique in Park City is the family-owned brand’s first expansion beyond the West Coast, and it is celebrating the Utah ski area’s mountain aesthetic as a way to showcase fine jewelry and watches.
Stephen Silver’s 700-square-foot store-within-a-store space, Stephen Silver at Mountain Time in Park City’s Montage Deer Valley ski resort, opened in late December. It is stocked with Stephen Silver jewelry and rare timepieces from watchmakers such as H. Moser & Cie and Ulysse Nardin, as well as some one-of-a-kind jewels previously worn by celebrities including Oprah Winfrey and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Company president Jared Silver says skiing is a favorite pastime in his family, and they have many memories from vacations in Park City, Deer Valley, and Alta (another Utah ski destination). As a lot of residents of Silicon Valley—where Stephen Silver is based—relocate part- or full-time to Park City, the jeweler saw an opportunity to serve them, he says.
“There is a strong local community in Park City throughout the year. People live and visit here because they’ve chosen a lifestyle rooted in enjoyment. The community is discerning while understated, and they gravitate toward pieces that tell a story and are meant to be worn and lived with, not just admired,” Jared Silver says.
“These are the same values we have at Stephen Silver. Being part of Montage Deer Valley allows us to connect with clients in a more relaxed, experiential setting, which feels very true to how we like to build relationships,” he adds.

Stephen Silver Fine Jewelry has its headquarters and flagship salon in Menlo Park, Calif. The Park City opportunity arose quickly and felt like a must-have for the brand, says Silver, though he notes that from this point forward, expansion will likely occur a bit slower.
“Our focus is on identifying locations with the right local partner that make sense for the brand and allow us to maintain the level of craftsmanship, service, and storytelling we’re known for,” he says. “Any future growth will be approached thoughtfully, with care and a strong emphasis on partnership.”
The Silver family employed two design firms to create the Montage Deer Valley boutique’s look: longtime Silver collaborator James Mansour, who also worked on Stephen Silver’s Village Menlo Park store, and Park City’s Barclay Butera Interior Design.
“This chalet-style ‘living room’ store concept is filled with all the creations Stephen Silver Fine Jewelry is known for,” Silver says. “We put this concept together on a tight timeline in order to be open by Christmas, so our space will continue to evolve.”
One of Jared Silver’s favorite design elements within the new boutique is its artwork, including two original David Yarrow photographs from Park City’s Relevant Gallery.
“They added the perfect final touch to the space and set the tone for the store,” he says. “I love the balance of clean architecture with warm natural finishes. While it’s a relatively intimate space, it doesn’t feel small—it feels considered.”
That intimacy is part of the jewelry brand’s overall approach to luxury goods and services, according to Silver.
“This isn’t meant to be an intimidating luxury environment. Whether someone is discovering the Stephen Silver brand for the first time or already knows our work, the experience should feel unhurried and focused on connection and discovery,” he says.
“We want it to feel like a place where we can sit down on vacation and catch up over a local High West whiskey. Above all, we want clients to feel welcomed, comfortable, and genuinely curious.”
