Sotheby’s Geneva will sell the Glowing Rose, an ultrarare 10.08 ct. cushion brilliant-cut fancy vivid pink diamond, as part of its Nov. 12 High Jewelry sale.
The Glowing Rose is only the third cushion-cut vivid pink diamond over 10 carats to come to market in the past decade. It is expected to fetch $20 million.
The rough that produced the Glowing Rose was found in Angola in 2023.
“Not only has the diamond received the highest color and very high clarity grades, but it has also been found to be part of the rare subgroup comprising less than 2% of all gem diamonds—Type IIa,” said a Sotheby’s statement.
Ahead of the auction, the Glowing Rose will be exhibited in Singapore on Oct. 17 and 18 and in Taipei, Taiwan, on Oct. 23 and 24.
In May, Sotheby’s sold the Mediterranean Blue, a 10.03 ct. fancy vivid blue diamond, for $21.5 million.
