Sotheby’s has hired watch veterans Mikael Wallhagen (right) and Tony Frank (below) as it continues to add to its timepiece department.
Wallhagen and Frank both come to Sotheby’s from the Swedish auction house Bukowskis. There, they created its watch department and instituted live and online auctions.
At Sotheby’s, they will both hold the title of senior specialist, with a mandate to drive the auction house’s watch strategy in Europe, focusing on Geneva, Switzerland, and London.
Sotheby’s watch department is part of the auction house’s new Luxury & Lifestyle division, which launched earlier this year.
