TikTok Officially Launches Bulletin Board

TikTok had extended its bulletin board messaging feature to all users, after making it available on only select profiles for the past few months. There’s still a caveat as to who can use bulletin board, however: A creator must have more than 50,000 followers to access it.

Bulletins are another way for creators to connect with other TikTokers, serving as a one-to-many messaging option in text, photo, or video form. Users can join someone’s bulletin board in order to receive alerts about updates and respond with emojis or custom messages.

Essentially, this plays on the popularity of direct messaging, allowing creators to send an update to a wide audience all at once and users to reply individually.

Google Adds AI-Powered Shopping Tools

Google has announced a big AI upgrade to shopping that should make it easier for users to find what they’re looking for this holiday season.

“When you ask AI mode a shopping question, you’ll get an intelligently organized response that brings together rich visuals and all the details you need (like price, reviews, and inventory info), helping you quickly and confidently decide what to buy,” Google said in a statement.

AI results will pull up shoppable images to help capture the moods and aesthetics of searchers, similar to what Pinterest has been doing with its visual search. Conversation queries can help narrow down results more precisely.
