Sissy’s Log Cabin Opens Seventh Store, in Northwest Arkansas

Sissy’s Log Cabin, the Mid-South’s largest family-owned and -operated jewelry chain, has expanded to a seventh retail location, in Fort Smith, Ark.

CEO Bill Jones says the northwest Arkansas community welcomed the “Sissy’s Experience” with a large turnout at the April 24 grand opening of the store, at 4410 Phoenix Ave.

“Expanding to Fort Smith is a meaningful step in our journey as a growing Arkansas-founded, family-operated business. We’re excited to expand within our home state,” Jones says. His mother, Sissy Jones, opened the first location, in Pine Bluff, Ark., in 1970.

Decor inside the new 5,200-square-foot store, designed by architect Jesse Balaity, reflects the chain’s origins, as Sissy Jones founded it inside a log cabin. The company’s latest stores add more luxury furnishings and jewelry displays, Bill Jones says.

“Sissy’s new Fort Smith store design is truly immersive, with a boutique-style shopping experience around brands we know our customers love. This is the first build since our new store design concept, which launched last year in Memphis,” he says.

“We worked with the architect to create a premier destination for extraordinary jewelry, utilizing natural light through large storefront and side windows, while incorporating natural wood finishes that reflect our store’s heritage,” says Jones.

The Fort Smith store has state-of-the-art jewelry displays that highlight the more than 20 different designers Sissy’s Log Cabin specializes in, he adds. There also are areas where clients can work with staff members on custom design, personalization, and styling for their new jewelry.

People who shop at Sissy’s Log Cabin become friends, Jones says, and his family’s goal is to make them customers for life. That is why the company has grown so much over the 50-plus years, and why it has policies like “jewelry emergencies”—when a store opens early or stays open later for customers who have contacted them about needing last-minute gifts.

“Sissy’s Log Cabin has always been more than just a jewelry store. It’s a place where individuals, couples, and families come to mark some of the most meaningful moments in their lives,” says William Jones IV, president of Sissy’s Log Cabin (and Bill’s son). “From engagements and anniversaries to birthdays and holidays, we’re honored to play an important role in our customers’ stories.”

Sissy’s has five other locations in Arkansas—Pine Bluff, Little Rock Heights, Little Rock Promenade, Jonesboro, and Conway—and one in Memphis.
