There’s star jewelry, and there’s star jewelry. Sig Ward’s latest collection, Star Power, is the latter.
“The Star Power collection is a reminder to reclaim our power…a talisman of faith in our own power,” say the collection’s notes. “Being the star of the show is our birthright, and we are ready to shine.”
With this jewelry, Ward takes on timeless symbolism and gives it a modern update, with de rigueur opaque gemstones like black onyx and tiger’s eye. The designer also uses something not often seen in jewels, petrified wood (see above).
“My choice of opaque stones is more of a knowing that you don’t need to be loud for the limelight you are stepping into,” Ward tells JCK via email. “A quiet knowing of your strength and power.”
Polished with her eponymous brand’s signature craftsmanship, the Star Power rings, earrings, and pendants suit the current demand for larger statement pieces, while invoking the all-important feeling of intentional adornment.
Ward says she hopes this collection makes clients feel empowered to “step into the spotlight and stop playing safe.”
As is usually the case with the right piece of jewelry, putting it on can make people feel like they could achieve anything. Sig Ward’s latest has the (star) power to do just that.
