The California-based company opened its Portland, Oregon, branch in 2011
Shreve & Co., the California-based retailer, has announced that it will close its location in Portland, Ore.
The store opened in 2011.
“We have had a great experience here, making the decision to close a difficult one, but practical as our sales have not grown to our expectations,” Lane Schiffman, co-owner of Shreve & Co., said in a statement. “By closing the Portland store, we’ll gain more flexibility to focus our resources in our home market.”
Employees of the Portland store have been offered jobs in California, where the company has branches in San Francisco and Palo Alto.
The Portland location is currently holding a liquidation sale.
“We’ve decided to make our last holiday season in Portland a memorable one and have planned an absolutely spectacular sales event as our farewell,” said Schiffman. “The sale provides the unique opportunity to purchase gifts of the very finest jewelry, diamonds and watches at Shreve at unheard-of low prices.”
