I reported in an earlier post, Serena Williams’ U.S. Open Euphoria, about the stunning earrings that Williams wore during this year’s U.S Open, but as I was unable to find out anything about the necklace she also donned I mistakenly figured that it was something from her personal collection. Not so!
Thanks to the ever shrinking nature of our world and the glory of the internet, a publicist for Grace Jewelers reachd out to JCK through the comment box and informed us of how Serena came into possession of the piece (pictured below).
Grace Jewelers was established in 1979, based in Westwood Village – Los Angeles, specializing in custom design and unique rare pieces of jewelry. Their customer base has included celebrities such as Teri Hatcher, Ozzy Osbourne, Mohammed Ali, director of Lord of the Rings, Peter Jackson.
Serena Williams personally visited the store before the U.S. Open and decided to have a one-of-a kind piece designed for her. It is comprised of nine bezel set diamonds on a Italian link chain. Five bezel set diamonds are on the necklace, and additional four bezel set diamonds on a wraith chain connected down to her stomach on a belly chain. The diamonds are VS clarity and F in color. There was great attention the worksmanship for her piece so she was able to wear the jewelry while she moved effortlessly on the court.
