Seattle Jeweler Honored With Everyday Hero Award

The Kiwanis of West Seattle will honor Jack Menashe, owner of Menashe & Sons Jewelers, and his family with the Everyday Hero Award.

Located in West Seattle, Wash., a town Menashe calls “a small community within itself,” the store has been committed to the servicing the community for nearly 40 years.

Menashe was born and raised in Seattle and has been working in the jewelry industry since the age of 15. Starting off by sweeping floors, he worked his way up in the business and opened his own shop more than 35 years ago.

“When I was a young man I had a mentor who told me that if I ever had the chance to own my own business, I should always remember to do right by my community,” Menashe says.

Menashe and his family are devoted to helping local groups including youth sports and both private and public schools. “I believe in doing everything I can to help our succeeding generations,” Menashe says.

Menashe will be honored for his contributions by the Kiwanis of West Seattle on June 13 at BE’s Restaurant.

“It was certainly unexpected to receive the call from the Kiwanis,” Menashe says. “I feel very humbled.”
