Scatola del Tempo Honors Gabriele Muccino

Scatola del Tempo, the Italian-based maker of the original rotating watch holder, recently honored the Italian film director Gabriele Muccino (pictured).

Muccino is gaining increasing amounts of popular and critical praise in the United States for his nuance and depth approach to movie making, particularly after the success of The Pursuit of Happyness, which starred Will Smith.

Muccino is working on his second American feature, Seven Pounds, also starring Will Smith. He also is also busy with a production on a project about Pavarotti and a movie with Alessandro Gassman, Four Fathers.

Seven Pounds is filmed in Los Angeles. The movie also stars Rosario Dawson, Woody Harrelson, and Conor Cruise—Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman’s adopted son. The movie is the story of a man who can’t live with the sense of guilt he feels following a road accident in which he inadvertently kills some people. The author of this drama was inspired by the story of the NASA worker who felt responsible for the explosion of the Shuttle which killed seven astronauts.
