Scaringi – Bertol to Create ‘Little Mermaid’ Jewelry

New York jewelry design firm Scaringi – Bertol Atelier, a division of Tyler Cameron Fine Jewelry, has been chosen by The Walt Disney Co. to create the neckpiece for the upcoming production of “The Little Mermaid” on Broadway.

The necklace consists of a translucent lucite conch shell on a heavily-jeweled and encrusted braid of black silk threads and grosgrain ribbons, ending with a platinum-toned toggle clasp, embedded with opalescent stones and precious metals.

Scaringi – Bertol Atelier is also designing a line of sea-inspired jewelry, including bracelets, rings, pendants, brooches and earrings that will debut with its fall/winter collections.

The symbolism of “The Little Mermaid” grouping is transparency, coupled with patented special effects that create the illusion of shimmer and ripples. Each piece combines iridescence with precious and semi-precious stones. The line also features embedments such as vintage laces, antique ribbons, gold nuggets and silver spirals.

Disney’s first adaptation of “The Little Mermaid,” the fairy tale written by Hans Christian Andersen, will premiere in New York, Nov. 3 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on Broadway.
