
Birks & Mayors announced that its net sales for the fiscal year ended March 31 increased 11.6 percent.
“Fiscal 2012 marked a return to profitability through continued improvement in sales and gross profit margin facilitated by the success of our merchandising and marketing initiatives and the recovering economic environments in the U.S. and Canada,” Jean-Christophe Bedos, president and chief executive officer of Birks & Mayors, said in a statement.
Highlights of Birks & Mayors financial statement (53 weeks ended March 2012) include:
- Net sales: up 11.6 percent
- Comparable store sales: up 5 percent
- Gross profit margin: up 114 basis points
