An official delegation of Russian buyers will visit the International Colored Gemstone Association International Gem Show Dubai, Oct. 13-15.

Alexey Shcherbina, publisher of Jewellery Review Magazine, based in Russia, agreed to organize a delegation after ICA executive director Barbara Wheat recently visited the Golden Ring of Russia Festival, which took place in Kostroma, an area responsible for 40% of Russia’s jewelry production.

“Sourcing quality colored gemstones is a priority for Russian jewelry designers and manufacturers. The enthusiastic response to the news of the new ICA Gem Show from many top people in the Russian gem and jewelry industry was an indication that organizing a delegation would be a welcome idea,” said Shcherbina, who is also the organizer of the Golden Ring of Russia Festival.

“We are looking forward with great expectations to receiving an official delegation from Russia in Dubai. This will bring additional business potential to our exhibitors as our show constitutes a major arena for buyers in search of quality stones from reliable dealers,” Wheat said. “ICA has a long-standing relation with Alexey Shcherbina; we will continue to cooperate with one another on future projects.”
