Roberto Demeglio’s New Aura Collection of Gold-Plated Ceramic Jewelry

The VicenzaOro fair this year was the first time Amit Sofer of Beny Sofer, official distributor of the Roberto Demeglio line in the United States, showed Demeglio’s new Aura gold-plated ceramic styles. Available in four bracelet sizes and one ring size—all adjustable with a flexible patented inner coil—the styles are made in a thin layer of 24k yellow-, white-, or rose-gold plating over zirconia ceramic in white or black. According to the president of Roberto Demeglio USA, the styles are shatterproof and scratch and chip resistant. “It’s a fashion accessory and travel jewelry that looks rich, and you don’t have to worry about the price,” Sofer says of the styles, which start at $228 retail. There will be no diamond accents in Aura.

Two weeks ago at the Scottsdale, Ariz., Neiman Marcus, Sofer held a trunk show with just 15 pieces on hand, selling 11 of them in the first two hours. Since the line’s debut, the pieces have been sold into 40 U.S. doors, and national advertisements will be placed in W, Town & Country, and Harper’s Bazaar to promote the looks to consumers.
