Hörner was elected during the organization’s annual general meeting at JCK Las Vegas
The Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), the international nonprofit organization for standards and certification, held its annual general meeting June 5 in Las Vegas.
Wilfried Hörner of Argor-Heraeus was elected chairman of the board. Mark Jenkins of Signet Jewelers Limited was reelected as honorary secretary.
“Although there are challenges ahead, I look forward to working with the management team to take advantage of the many opportunities as we prepare for the next decade of the RJC,” said Hörner in a statement.
Michael Steinmetz (Leo Schachter Diamonds); Ankur Goyal (MMTC-PAMP India Pvt. Ltd.); Jean-Baptiste Dembreville (Baume & Mercier); Bernard Malek (Cartier); and Harriet Kelsall (Harriet Kelsall Bespoke Jewellery) were all elected to the board.
“On behalf of the management team, I’d like to warmly congratulate Wilfried on his appointment,” said RJC executive director Andrew Bone. “We are looking forward to working with him and the board to build on the success of the last 10 years. I’d also like to thank Charles Chaussepied for his service as interim chair.”
