Alan Davies will become chief executive of Rio Tinto’s diamonds and minerals division beginning Sept. 1, the company announced. He was previously head of its iron ore international operations.
Current diamonds and minerals chief executive Harry Kenyon-Slaney will move on to the energy division.
Rio Tinto has announced it wants to sell its diamond assets in March. Some speculate the assets could be sold off as a unit.
