The U.S. Census Bureau announced Friday that advance estimates of U.S. retail and food services sales for November were $352.1 billion, an increase of 1.3 percent from the previous month and 1.9 percent above November 2008.
General merchandise stores sales rose 0.8 percent from October and increased 1.2 percent from November of last year.
The overall retail sales were slightly off the 1.4 percent increase in October.
