Responsible Jewellery Council Names New CEO

Ashish Deo, a consumer and luxury brand specialist who served most recently as commercial director for the Fairtrade Foundation, has been appointed chief executive officer of the Responsible Jewellery Council.

He replaces Michael Rae, who was CEO for seven years and resigned in November. Chief operations officer Catherine Sproule has been serving as interim CEO.

Deo has worked with consumer brands in Asia, North America, and Europe, including as a brand manager for Proctor & Gamble India, according to his LinkedIn profile. A statement says the group plans to focus on Asia and expand its reach into other regions.
