My most recent encounter with Cindy Edelstein reminded me of her generous spirit
Like everyone in the industry who knew—and, by default—loved Cindy Edelstein, I am shocked and deeply saddened by our collective loss.
I spoke to Cindy on Wednesday for a story I am writing about men’s rings. Despite her busy schedule, she responded to my email query within minutes, and we set up a time to speak that very day. She was thoughtful, enthusiastic, funny, knowledgeable and kind—Cindy to the core. Speaking about trends, she referred me to several designers with whom I wasn’t familiar, and shared her deep love and respect for their craft in the most authentic and generous way.
Cindy was a beautiful person. To say that I’ll miss seeing her friendly smile at trade shows and industry events is a massive understatement.
Thank you, Cindy, for everything you did for this industry, and a heartfelt personal thank you for all the many kindnesses you showed to me. Rest in peace.
I love this photo from Cindy’s Facebook page. She’s at the center of things, naturally.
