Reeds Jewelers is opening a 7,800 sq. ft. “Landmark” store in the Fenton development in Cary, N.C., in early 2026.
Genna Zimmer, Reeds’ vice president of operations and strategy, tells JCK this will be Reeds’ third “Landmark.” The Landmarks are the 61-store chain’s biggest and highest-end locations and feature a large assortment of bridal and luxury watches.
The Cary store, like the other two Landmarks, will have a full hospitality bar, TVs, and sofas, Zimmer says.
“The goal is to feel like you’re entering a best friend’s home, not a jewelry store,” she explains. “We have found it’s really important to make sure the store environment matches the experience.”
And that requires additional space, she says.
“My grandfather [company founder Bill Zimmer] had generational clients,” Gemma says. “He knew their family, he knew their names. You could do that in 2,000 square feet in his day and age.”
The Cary-Apex area is one of North Carolina’s most affluent and fastest-growing markets, according to a Reeds statement.
Founded in 1946, Reeds is based in Wilmington, N.C.
