Reeds Jewelers, Inc., an 89 store specialty retail chain based in Wilmington, N.C., selected Ultimate Technology for its point-of-sale upgrade project.
Ultimate Technology, Victor, N.Y., will manage the staging, integration, project management, installation, de-installation, and disposal of the jeweler’s legacy equipment. UTC also will provide on-going hardware maintenance. Reeds will deploy Ultimate Technology’s 2845 Series integrated POS hardware solution running Microsoft’s Retail Management System Store Operations POS application. The chain-wide project is scheduled for completion during the third quarter of 2006.
Ultimate Technology also will adapt their hardware solution to integrate with biometric fingerprint recognition technology to enhance Reeds’ register access and provide an improved time and attendance process.
