Reed Jewelry Group announced today that it has hired luxury-industry sales veteran Jim Fox as its new portfolio sales director for the JCK and Luxury shows.
Fox will be responsible for strategy, leadership, and development within the JCK and Luxury sales teams, as well as key account customer relationships of the jewelry industry’s leading events.
The role is a new one for Reed (which owns JCKonline.com and JCK magazine) and was created to further the JCK brand’s mission of keeping in closer contact with its customers—by providing opportunities for the JCK and Luxury teams to listen to their customers and enact changes based on their feedback.
Fox has more than 20 years of sales and business development experience in the luxury-goods sector. He was the sales director in the consumer products division of Swarovski for more than nine years and during that time was closely aligned with the brand’s retail challenges and opportunities. Fox also directed Swarovski’s licensed boutique business, creating 50 new stores and generating more than $50 million in new business at casinos, airports, and traditional retail outlets.
Before Swarovski, he worked in sales within the fine writing instrument division of the Gillette Co., where he was involved in luxury retail partnerships with Tiffany & Co., Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and guild independent jewelers.
“Jim has developed a service-oriented, consulting approach to sales, believing that one must truly understand a customer’s objectives, products, and challenges in order to add value and make strategic suggestions that will ultimately drive business for both parties,” reads a company statement on the new hire.
Sarin Bachmann, event vice president of JCK and Luxury, said in the same statement, “JCK is excited to have such a seasoned luxury sales veteran join the management team. Jim’s values and history of approaching sales as a consulting strategy aligns with our passionate commitment to customer satisfaction.
