On Dec. 4, consumer online retail spending (non-travel) at U.S. Web sites reached a record-setting $647 million, according to comScore Networks, Reston, Virg. The figure represents a 26 percent increase over the corresponding day of the prior year.
During the first 35 days of the season this year, total online retail spending reached $13.7 billion, marking a 25-percent increase versus the corresponding days in 2005.
