‘Real L Word’ Jewelry Designer Partners With Lingerie Brand Kiki de Montparnasse

Sexy-tough jewelry collection Lyon Fine Jewelry already enjoys a relatively high profile thanks to brand founder Lauren Bedford Russell, who’s most prominently known as the pink-haired star of reality TV series The Real L Word. (JCK also featured Lyon prominently in its November silver spotlight feature.)

But thanks to a new partnership, the edgy collection is poised to reach an even wider audience. Luxury lingerie purveyor Kiki de Montparnasse—a favorite among celebrities and “it” girls the world over—will be carrying the newest Lyon collection in three of its locations: New York City, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas.

The jewelry collection will officially debut Dec. 5 in Kiki de Montparnasse’s New York City location, and will be progressively rolled out to the other two locations. Bedford Russell recently moved to New York City to expand her collection, which is predominantly composed of black rhodium sterling silver paired with black diamonds, black jade, and the occassional real gold accent. The collection is manufactured in the United States; pieces range from $100 to $8,800.

Staff at Kiki de Montparnasse stores will offer customers the opportunity to special order jewelry pieces in alternate metals and gemstones, says Bedford Russell, who initially reached out to the brand “through a friend,” which led to a meeting in which she presented the collection to Kiki de Montparnasse execs.

The collection’s provocative vibe jibes perfectly with the lingerie brand’s sexy, fashion-forward aesthetic. Standout pieces in the new collection (which will be available at the New York City store) include a sexy body chain and a series of rings and bracelets that riff on the equal sign, which has become a symbol for sexual-orientation equality. The sterling silver Equality ring, for one, creates an equal sign using two diamond-encrusted rectangles, leaving a gap for bare skin in between.

“Kiki de Montparnasse’s customers include sophisticated men looking for women’s gifts, women looking for luxurious goodies for themselves, as well as men finding one-of-a-kind treasures for themselves,” says Bedford Russell. “[Lyon] satisfies similar goals.”
