Raymond Weil launches first sports watch line with multi-million dollar campaign

Luxury Swiss watchmaker Raymond Weil has launched RWSport, its first venture in performance sport timepieces, with a multi-million dollar ad campaign. Titled “Not a Moment Missed,” it features ESPN sportscasters Dan Patrick, Trey Wingo, and Steve Levy instead of athletes.

The new watch line and multi-media ad campaign were unveiled Oct. 20 (baseball legend Mick Mantle’s birthday) at Mickey Mantle’s Restaurant, in New York City, with Ron Darling, pitcher for the 1986 World Series winner New York Mets, Wingo, and Benny Shabtai, president of Raymond Weil U.S.A.

The new campaign for the RWSport watch line continues through 2007. Shot in black-and-white journalistic-style by Larry Fink, photo editor for Vanity Fair, the ads feature the sportscasters in relaxed, but natural settings. To reach RWSport’s target audience – young men who are sophisticated sports enthusiasts – the ads will appear in such publications as Esquire, Details, Sports Illustrated, Best Life, local market newspaper ads and billboards.
