The RapNet Diamond Trading Network has begun providing a weekly price list showing the best and average asking prices for select categories of fine quality diamonds, the Rapaport Group said Thursday. The price information will be presented as a discount or premium percentage from the standard Rapaport Price List. RapNet Asking Price Indices will also be published for D-H, IF-VS2 quality diamonds in 0.30 to 3 ct. sizes.
The new RapNet Best Price List complements the standard Rapaport Price List as it presents independent asking price data that reflect volatile daily market forces and detailed discount information, the Rapaport Group said. The standard Rapaport Price List will continue as the primary source of diamond price information to the diamond industry as it presents more stable pricing guidelines based on the opinion of Martin Rapaport.
The RapNet Best Price List will be distributed exclusively to members of the RapNet Diamond Trading Network, who are all members of the trade. The weekly report will reflect RapNet market conditions as of midnight Saturday in New York.
Additional monthly reports will be available. Continuous best price and average price information is available on RapNet trading screens.
The RapNet Diamond Trading Network provides daily listings of over $3.1 billion of diamonds.
