GIA has named Pritesh Patel, currently its chief operations officer, its new president and CEO, effective Aug. 4.
He will take over from Susan Jacques, who has headed GIA since mid-2013. Jacques will remain with the institute as a strategic adviser through the end of the year.
Patel joined GIA in 2015 as chief information officer. Two years later, he was appointed senior vice president and chief operations officer.
Earlier, Patel had served as vice president of information technology for CIRCOR International, a manufacturer of flow control products used by the aerospace, industrial, defense, and energy sectors. He holds an MBA from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California.
“I am delighted that the board of governors has selected Pritesh as my successor and the next leader of this amazing organization,” Jacques said in a statement. “I, along with our GIA colleagues, will do everything we can to ensure his success.”
Jacques talked about her 11 years leading the organization in a JCK video podcast in May.
