The Pinterest Palette—five trending colors predicted to define the year—was unveiled last week. 2026’s lineup is somewhat tame once you see it all laid out, but each color is gorgeous and just right for jewelry: from a frosty blue, a green hue based on one of our favorite opaque gemstones, and a velvety shade of purple to a luxurious chartreuse and a spicy orange reminiscent of Pantone’s 2012 Color of the Year.
Compiled from a combination of user search activity, Pinterest’s proprietary visual search technology, and expert curation, the Pinterest Palette has proved in previous years to be quite accurate.
This year’s colors are:
Cool Blue — an icy shade we’ve recently been seeing in beauty trends and on red carpets. In gemstones, look to light aquamarine, zircon, and opaque stones such as larimar. When paired with diamonds, this wintry color gets even icier, in the best way.
Jade — an earthy, calming hue that matches the gemstone of the same name. You can also find this color in variations of chrysoprase, serpentine, prehnite, and even some forms of quartz, like green amethyst. Still, after insisting on its comeback for the last several years, we are indeed partial to jade itself.
Plum Noir — the color you’d want in that plush velvet chair you’d sit in to sip whiskey from a crystal glass or read a good book by the fire. Dark and dramatic, this part burgundy/part brown hue is definitely, as Pinterest says, for the “villain era.” A deep amethyst might do the trick, but the notion of pairing this color in fashion with black stones—onyx, obsidian, black opal—is just what’s needed for that feels-good-to-be-bad vibe.
Wasabi — a name that might jump-start a fiery tingle in your tastebuds. Seeing it as a color is no different. Electric and energetic, this yellowy shade of green is spice to the eyes, and perfect for the coming spring. Look to chartreuse gems such as bright but lighter versions of peridot, chrysoberyl, tsavorite, sphene, and diopside.
Persimmon — a muted yet fiery hue, reminiscent of Tangerine Tango, Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2012. Milky opaque gems in an orangey red—carnelian, coral, red agate, orange jade—mimic this sweet but bold color well.
