There was concern in the Allentown-Bethlehem, PA, area that Piercing Pagoda was going to relocate its Bethlehem headquarters to Irving, Texas, where the Zale headquarters is located. Zale recently purchased the operator of the mall jewelry kiosks in August for $201 million. But a report in the The Morning Call newspaper in Allentown says the company is staying put.
Some financial and corporate positions had been eliminated at the Bethlehem offices after the buyout, but the ones that remain are mostly related to the distribution business there, John Euryecko, president of the Piercing Pagoda division, told the newspaper. That portion of the business will remain intact. ”There’s nothing planned out of the ordinary,” he said. Piercing Pagoda operates more than 940 kiosks in 44 states and Puerto Rico.
