Benton, Ark., police are on the lookout for a man who used a pickax to break into jewelry cases at a Wal-Mart Supercenter early in the morning on Nov. 18.
According to Arkansas Online, the store’s employees called the police around 5:30 a.m. on Monday when the man allegedly went into the jewelry department and used the pickax to crack open the cases.
The thief, who reportedly told the Wal-Mart employees that he had a gun and would shoot if they attempted to intervene, fled the scene through the back of the store with an unknown amount of jewelry.
The suspect is described as an African-American man wearing a blue-and-black plaid jacket, khakis pants, and a hat, as well as a ski mask and gloves. He was driving a relatively new work-style truck with toolboxes on the side of the bed with amber running lights on the roof of the cab, said the police.
