Platinum Guild International announced the winners of its first 2009 Platinum Design Awards at Baselworld 2009.
Italian manufacturer, Picchiotti, was presented with the Platinum Design award in the “Platinum Bridal Jewelry” category for its solitaire engagement ring with a combination of brown, yellow, and white diamonds from the Unique Bridal collection.
Kuwayama, a Japanese manufacturer, was awarded best “Platinum Design in the Nature inspired” category for its crafted platinum spider webs made into a necklace, bracelet, and earrings set.
The ‘Platinum Jewelry For Men’ design award was presented to German manufacturer, Hans D. Krieger, for its sword shaped platinum pendant with white diamonds, on a platinum chain.
The Platinum Design Awards gave exhibiting Baselworld designers the opportunity to showcase and highlight their most distinguished platinum pieces. An international panel of judges included visiting journalists from Vogue Gioielli (Italy), Trends Jewellery Forecast (Italy), China Daily News, Jewellery News Asia, Orion Magazine (France), Dreams Magazine (France), Le Bijoutier International (France), Women’s Wear Daily (Japan), Schmuck Magazine (Germany), and GZ/World One (Germany).
Developed by PGI, The Basel Platinum Design Awards is an extension of Platinum Guild International’s ongoing commitment to raising awareness and desire for Platinum jewelry.
