Petra Diamonds has sold an “exceptional” 23.16 ct. pink diamond (pictured, right) for $10.05 million, or $433,938 per carat.
The buyer was a partnership between Petra and Golden Yellow Diamonds, on behalf of Israeli manufacturer M.A. Anavi Diamond Group. Petra retains a 20 percent interest in the sale of the diamond.
The diamond was recovered from the company’s Williamson mine in Tanzania in November.
