
Peter Englehart, a veteran of Swarovski and Tiffany, has joined pre-owned watch seller Reklaim, as vice president of business development and sales.
Reklaim, which serves retailers and also has a direct-to-consumer site, says it offers access to over $10 billion worth of used timepieces and handbags, sourced from “a vast network of global aggregators.”
The company uses that network and proprietary technology to supply retailers with hard-to-find watch models, Englehart tells JCK.
“I’ve been a retailer of many fine watches for a lot of my career,” he says. “In my retail days, when we got certain models, they didn’t go into the showcase—they went into safe, and you called your best customers.”
Today the situation has only gotten worse, says Englehart.
“I just came back from the show in Las Vegas,” he says. “I could not have bought any Rolex on the Las Vegas Strip. I would have to be on a wait list for as little as five weeks and as much as five years. Guys like me can’t just walk in the door and buy a Daytona—and we’re going to change that.”
Reklaim’s AI-based platform allows retailers to have more control over the used watches they stock, explains Englehart.
“This is leveraging technology to solve what has been a challenge for consumers and for the retailers,” he says. “Our business model is built on shopping specifically for individual retailers and then being able to present them with the assortment that they need for their stores.”
He adds that the site consults with retailers to determine the inventory that “makes sense in their retail environment, what makes sense for where they are geographically for their client demographics. And we build the assortment out that way.”
Englehart’s long résumé includes stints at Better Silver, Swarovski (and its charm brand Chamilia), Tiffany & Co., and Shreve, Crump and Low.
Reklaim was cofounded in 2022 by tech entrepreneur Kamran Razavi and watch wholesaler James Thomas.
