Peggy Jo Donahue to Head MJSA Education Foundation

The Manufacturing Jewelers and Suppliers of America (MJSA) has named Peggy Jo Donahue director of the MJSA Education Foundation.

Donahue has been the director of public affairs at MJSA since 2009. Previously, she was editor-in-chief at both JCK and Professional Jeweler magazines.

The MJSA Education Foundation is a nonprofit that supports educational programs and initiatives, including seminar series and conferences. It has generated nearly $165,000 in scholarships since 1997 for students of jewelry design and jewelry making.

“The MJSA Education Foundation knows that a new generation of jewelry makers and designers is joining our industry,” said Donahue in an email to JCK. “Our mission is to support that energy and enthusiasm in every way we can! As well, larger companies also hunger for well-trained workers, and we’ve heard their voices, too. The foundation will champion programs that address that need.”

Dave Meleski, president of the Richline Group and chair of the MJSA Education Foundation, thinks Donahue is just the person for the job. “Peggy Jo’s contacts, energy, and knowledge of the industry are exactly what the foundation needs to further its educational outreach,” he said in a statement. “We look forward to having her lead the foundation to its next level of success.”
