The JCK Publishing Group has announced a new addition to its award-winning editorial staff, Paul Holewa.
Holewa has 14 years’ experience as an editor in the fine jewelry business sector, beginning with a 1995 writing job at JewelSiam in Bangkok. He was a part of the launch of GemKey magazine in 1998, which was eventually renamed InStore, a trade magazine dedicated exclusively to American retail jewelers. While at InStore, Holewa built strong relationships with both retailers and manufacturers. In 2006, he was awarded Editor of the Year by the Jewelry Information Center.
At JCK, Holewa will edit the new front-of-book section FirstRead: Retail. This section will focus on top stores, retail success stories, practical retailer information, and more.
“We are thrilled to have Paul as part of our editorial team,” said Mark Smelzer, publisher of the JCK Publishing Group. “I’ve personally watched Paul’s interactions with retailers and manufacturers over the years and have been very impressed. Paul possesses a unique ability to connect with them, speak their language, and determine the type of information they’d like to see in their leading trade.”
“We now have three senior editors, each responsible for one of our three editorial focuses: news and analysis (Rob Bates), style and product (Jennifer Heebner), and retail (Paul Holewa),” said Smelzer. “This new edit team will deliver an even more practical, informative, and authoritative JCK.”
