Past Present: The Jazz Age Inspires a New Earring Design for Gabriel & Co.

Flapper-inspired good times may bring to mind images of secret gin-fueled dance parties, but they also conjure mental pictures of the fringed and beaded garb often worn by female attendees. It’s these swingy, whimsical frocks that gave Berna Gabriel, chief creative officer of New York City–based Gabriel & Co., the idea for a new pair of petite chandelier earrings for the firm’s Flirtation collection. “We loved how when a woman would walk or dance, the tassels on her dress would shimmy and move,” she explains. Can you envision those coquettish moves in the diamond fray dangling from these earrings? No wurps here, these are the cat’s pajamas.
