Parker named De Beers LV global communications consultant

De Beers LV Ltd. on Friday named Joan Parker its global communications consultant.

Parker will be leaving the Diamond Information Center to become a consultant after 29 years as its director, first at NW Ayer and for six years at J. Walter Thompson.

“Joan will help us develop creative communication ideas surrounding all our future projects” Alain Lorenzo, CEO of De Beers LV, said in a statement. “We look forward to benefiting from her unparalleled diamond expertise as well as from her marketing talent”.

De Beers LV was established in 2001 as an independently managed and operated company by the De Beers Group, the world’s premier diamond group, and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the world’s leading luxury goods company.

As part of this venture agreement, the De Beers Group has transferred to De Beers LV the world-wide rights to use the De Beers brand name for luxury goods in consumer markets.

The new company will design, manufacture and sell premium diamond jewelry in its own retail stores under the De Beers brand name. Stores will be located in major cities throughout the world.
