“Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.” Just about everyone I know is familiar with that line, uttered by the detestable Miranda Priestly, so brilliantly portrayed by Meryl Streep in the 2006 hit The Devil Wears Prada. Okay, true, florals for spring are totally expected and not quite original, but so what? The early days of March absolutely beg for blooms to come and cheer us and usher us through the remaining days of winter. But how about this for something just a bit different? Florals for fall. First, alliteration is awesome. Second, these fall florals are an excellent diversion from the autumn leaves we associate with the season—which I love, and will never, ever tire of—but a bouquet of blooms arranged in darker, more dramatic hues keeps the garden look fresh for the new season. Thankfully, Parade Design has just what I’m talking about: a selection of floral rings in gem tones, autumnal, rustic rose gold, and, for those fall engagements, two fabulous engagement rings with pavé diamond petals. Flower jewelry is unquestionably timeless—seasonless, too—but for now, let’s do the Miranda Priestly thing and go for the unexpected, flowers for fall, not (only) spring. I think I’m ready for my career at Vogue, er, Runway, now.
