Pantone Colors of Spring 2012

According to the Pantone Color Institute, the colors included in the Pantone Fashion Color Report for Spring 2012 range from vivid shades to muted tones and fun-loving pastels. The 10 colors that inspire clothing designs for spring, as selected by some of the top names in fashion, were unveiled during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

“Consumers look to spring for renewed energy, optimism and the promise of a brighter day,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. “They have learned how color can help them alter a mood and provide the vitality and enthusiasm that enables them to experiment with new looks and color combinations.”

To determine its spring shades, Pantone interviewed fashion designers including Tommy Hilfiger, Elie Tahari, Nanette Lepore, Charlotte Ronson, Lela Rose, Betsey Johnson, Rachel Roy, and more.
