The Jewelry Information Center will award Matthew A. Runci, Jewelers of America’s president and CEO, with the GEM Award for Lifetime Achievement.
Runci will retire in December, and will be replaced by Dave Bonaparte.
“Matthew Runci has been a true champion for our industry. The GEM Award for Lifetime Achievement is a tribute from every jeweler in business today who benefits from Runci’s advocacy,” Rachel Branch, GEM Awards chair, said in a statement.
The 11th annual Gem Awards will take place on Jan. 11 in New York City. JIC will also present GEM Awards for corporate communications and journalistic excellence, plus the inaugural GEM Award for design.
