In the year since the terrible morning of Sept. 11, 2001, we’ve come to terms with a new kind of existence-one where there are no absolutes and where the insular peace we took for granted is forever shattered. The jewelry industry honors the memory of a cherished colleague, Bob Spiesman of Lazare Kaplan, who perished in the attack on the Pentagon, and the JCK family also remembers Jeffrey Mladenik and Andrew Curry Green, two colleagues from another division of its parent company, Reed Business Information, who perished on the American Airlines flight that crashed into the World Trade Center. We join Americans everywhere in honoring the memory of all those who were lost on that fateful day.
