On Set Today: Colored Stones and Wedding Jewelry for JCK’s January–February Issue

While most jewelers haven’t even given any thought yet to Thanksgiving, JCK is already in a winter frame of mind. That’s because we’re shooting our January–February issue in Manhattan today.

For the model-slash-bride who will appear on the cover, we’ve pulled loads of engagement rings with equal parts diamonds and colored stones. Darling little contemporary styles from Doves are in house, as well as a few emerald gobstoppers from jeweler-to-the-stars Robert Procop, whose electric green numbers will be vibrant companions to the other wedding jewels on set.

For our colored stone still life, expect to see a buffet of unusual black stones—tourmaline boulders that look like lava rocks—as well as emeralds, Burmese rubies (ban lifted!), Paraiba tourmalines, and more. Here’s a peek at some of the beauties we have on set today. To see the finished selections, stay tuned for the January–February issue.
