I consider this a more romantic take on the negative-space trend. The new lace isn’t the delicate, intricate filigree we’re used to seeing in antique and vintage-inspired jewels. This is more of an open, webbed weave, where the skin still plays a big part in the design. It’s just, well, dressed up a bit. In some cases, the lace accents part of a larger design, like a drizzle of diamonds that somehow looks effortless and elegant all at once. Where traditional lace is a bit buttoned up, consider this the undone, sleeves-rolled-up version of that. Instead of trying to describe it for you, let me just show you! Here are some of the best examples of the look you should consider stocking—I think this look will be a big hit in the fall, especially.
