N.Y. Jeweler’s Bracelets Support Soldiers

Van Cott Jewelers,
a two-store chain based in Johnson City, N.Y., is raising awareness for
wounded veterans and their families with its From Solider To Solider
campaign.

The store
is selling a designer version of the survival and friendship bracelets worn by
soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. Van
Cott will donate $25 to Homes for Our Troops and other veterans groups for
every bracelet sold.

The bracelets in the field are braided with parachute cord,
which when unraveled, can be used for many purposes in a pinch. The designer
version of the bracelet has a sterling silver clasp shaped like a uniform
button, and is tightly braided.

“From Soldier to Solider is [dedicated to] our young men and
women who put their lives on the line for our country and made horrific
sacrifices. It is about the survival, friendship and commitment, symbolized by
these bracelets,” Niels Christiansen, CEO of LovelinksAmerica, the
Massachusetts company behind the national campaign, said in a statement.
