Number of Attendees Grows at MJSA Expo New York

The number of buyers and paid exhibitors at the 2012 MJSA Expo increased 10 percent from the 2011 show.

The expo, held at the Hilton New York March 11–13, attracted more than 3,100 buyers over the course of three days, signaling what organizers called a “morale boost” for the jewelry industry. Highlights of the event included a seminar with industry web experts, a discussion of how compelling messages can increase sales, and a demonstration by Alishan Halebian, designer and goldsmith.

The expo also hosted a “Future of Design Live Finale,” allowing three finalists to compete in both a business and design contest. Designer Bree Richey won the competition and received $250,000 worth of business services.
