Luxury was previously tracked independently
NPD Group, the market research firm, is moving its luxury services into its softlines sector.
Luxury services include sales tracking for watches, designer jewelry, and diamonds. Each was previously tracked independently.
“Luxury is one of the most dynamic segments of the fashion business today, and integrating these services into our softlines sector will be good for NPD and for our clients,” said Diane Nicholson, who leads the softlines business. “We’re excited to have a number of initiatives under way and look forward to continuing to provide the industry with the broadest and deepest view of their markets and their customers.”
