Northeastern Fine Jewelry to Open Third Store in Central New York

The retailer will stock former store owner Chris Scoville’s jewelry line

Schenectady, N.Y.–based fine jewelry retailer Northeastern Fine Jewelry announced last week that it will open its fourth retail location—and third store in the Albany, N.Y., area—in Glens Falls, N.Y.

The 2,500-square-foot store, located at 167 Glen St. in a building formerly occupied by Scoville Jewelers, is scheduled to open in February. Five new employees have been hired to staff the operation, according to a statement released by the company.

Northeastern Fine Jewelry already operates stores in Albany and Schenectady in addition to a location in New York City’s Diamond District.

“We’re excited to announce plans to expand our upstate presence with this new location,” said Ray Bleser, owner of Northeastern Fine Jewelry, in the same statement. “The new store will allow us to bring the highest quality of jewelry and our outstanding service to the southern Adirondacks. We look forward to joining the…community.”

The Glens Falls store will stock a selection of big-name brands including Hearts on Fire, Forevermark, Charles Krypell, Tacori, Simon G., Michele, and Phillips House, among others.

More interestingly, Northeastern Fine Jewelry will be the exclusive vendor of CS Designs, the original jewelry collection by Chris Scoville, former owner of Scoville Jewelers, which previously occupied the Glens Falls space. And all customers with diamond warranties under Scoville “will continue to receive complimentary cleanings and inspections at Northeastern Fine Jewelry.”

Scoville said in the same statement, “Northeastern Fine Jewelry has an excellent reputation within the industry and is a recognized retail leader throughout the Capital Region.… We are confident that they will be a tremendous addition to downtown Glens Falls and look forward to welcoming them to the community.”

Northeastern Fine Jewelry is the largest independently owned jeweler in the Albany region—also known locally as the Capital Region.
