Nordstrom announced it will open its first stores in Canada, beginning in 2014.
The company plans to lease space at premier shopping centers located in Calgary, Ottawa, Toronto, and Vancouver.
The company also noted that veteran Nordstrom exec Karen McKibbin will serve as president of Nordstrom Canada.
“It’s exciting to finally have this opportunity to better serve our Canadian customers closer to home and we can’t wait to open our doors,” said Erik Nordstrom, president of stores for Nordstrom, in a statement.
The Calgary store will open in 2014; the Ottawa and Vancouver stores in 2015; and the Toronto store is scheduled to debut in fall 2016.
