New York State Jewelers Association elects board members

The New York State Jewelers Association, the local affiliate of Jewelers of America, has announced the results of their recent elections for the Board of Directors.

Joel Kopel of William Barthman Jewelers, New York City, was elected to a two-year term as president. He succeeds Marc Solomon of Solomon Jewelers, Plainview, who completed his second term as president. Additional elections for officers included Jeffrey Fina of Michael C. Fina, New York City, first vice-president; Larry Boland of Piaget, second vice-president; and Louis Fortunoff of Fortunoff Westbury, secretary.

“I am looking forward to continuing to grow the New York State Jewelers Association as we build our membership and expand the programs and services we are able to offer,” Kopel said.

The board was also expanded as new associate directors were added. Kendra Bridel Weinman, Taché Diamonds, Inc., New York City; Cathrine Wolden, Taché Jewelry, Inc.; Debbie Azar, Gemological Sciences International, New York, NY; Julianne Jaffe, J. J. Marco, Inc., City; Maria Crawley-Bayazid, Cartier, City; and Terry Ianuale, TMI Enterprises, Inc., have joined the board.

The New York State Jewelers Association was established in 1909 and is based in New York City. The organization represents more than 500 retail jewelers statewide and has more than 100 associate members.
