You may want to make sure she’s ready to say “I do” before booking the Jewel Suite at the New York Palace.
Guests staying at midtown Manhattan’s luxury New York Palace will now receive a $2,500 complimentary diamond ring from celebrity jewelry designer Martin Katz when they check into the recently debuted suite. What’s the nightly rate, you ask? $25,000.
The 5,000-square-foot suite, part of the Palace’s $140-million renovation, does offer up some dazzling bejeweled value despite the eye-popping price tag. The main entrance features Port Laurent stone floors, diamond-like wall coverings in soothing jewel tones, a 20-foot diamond waterfall chandelier, and floating crystal jewel boxes encasing distinctive jewelry creations by Katz.

A tweet sent by the New York Palace on opening night. Looks like a fine place to spend some time with bedazzled friends.
Other highlights include a grand parlor with floor-to-ceiling windows and a grand piano “sitting center stage.” The master bedroom features Art Deco–inspired chairs that are upholstered in silver and pearl velvet and a custom-designed Lucite tableau that “showcases spectacular jewels.” Romantics can also take advantage of a woodburning fireplace and the spa installed on a private indoor terrace (resist the urge to light yourself on fire or jump off said terrace once you get the bill—or if she says no).
If all that wasn’t enough, guests can also sign up for the Ultimate Proposal Package, which includes private consultation with Katz to create a custom-designed engagement ring and/or wedding band and a customized private dining experience for two on the rooftop terrace. And by sign up, we mean purchase for $50,000 per night.
Jewelers, what would you do if you got to spend a night at this room? Pack your loupe?
